Who qualifies for a Passport Renewal Application?
- Your existing passport is in your possession and undamaged
- It was issued when you were 16 or older
- It was issued within the last 15 years
- It was issued in your current name, OR you can document the change
If any of these is false, you'll need a new application (DS-11) instead.
What you'll need for a U.S. Passport Renewal Application
- Your most recent passport — undamaged
- One new passport photo — 2x2 inches, taken within the last 6 months
- Completed DS-82 — we generate this from your online intake
- Marriage certificate or court order — only if your name has changed
- Government fees — $130 (book) or $30 (card), paid by check or money order to "U.S. Department of State"
